Dr. Alexander E. Poor is a board-certified general surgeon specializing in hernias, pelvic and abdominal pain, and core muscle injuries.
Dr. Poor earned his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College and completed his residency in General Surgery at Drexel University College of Medicine under core injury expert Dr. William C. Meyers.
He has participated in several basic science and clinical research studies, as well as contributed to book chapters.
He has an interest in basic science and clinical research that advances understanding of core anatomy and the pathophysiology of its associated injuries. Dr. Poor has completed his training program for core muscle injuries at Vincera Institute and serves as Director of Research. Dr. Poor is currently enrolling patients in studies to better understand how to promote core health and prevent core injuries.
