Johannes Roedl, Md, PhD

Dr. Roedl is a board certified and fellowship trained Musculoskeletal Radiologist specializing in sports imaging and minimally invasive image-guided procedures for sports related injuries. Dr. Roedl earned his medical degree from the Friedrich-Alexander-University in Bavaria, Germany, completed his internship at Massachusetts General Hospital and his Radiology Residency at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, both in Boston. Thereafter, Dr. Roedl specialized in Musculoskeletal Imaging and Interventions during his fellowship at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia. Dr. Roedl is an attending Radiologist at Thomas Jefferson Hospital in the Musculoskeletal Division which interprets the MRIs and performs the image-guided procedures for the professional sports teams in Philadelphia including the Eagles, Phillies, Flyers and Sixers.

Dr. Roedl focuses on MRI and ultrasound for diagnosing sports related injuries and uses minimally invasive, ultrasound-guided techniques for the treatment of tendon, muscle, joint or nerve injuries in professional and amateur athletes. Dr. Roedl has published, written book chapters and spoken publicly on sports-related imaging and interventions on national and international meetings.
